Loft bathroom · Cardiff
Stripped out and started again.
The old enclosure, tiles and floor all came out, back to the joists. In went a low-profile shower tray, a new tiled wall, a ladder radiator and a fitted vanity run under the slope — plumbing, tiling and the finishing touches done by me.
Same room, same doorway, same Velux at the end. Drag the handle and you're looking at exactly what the customer had before.

It's rarely limescale here
Our water comes off the Brecon Beacons and runs soft. What finishes off a boiler round here is sludge and magnetite in the radiators. I'd rather flush the system than sell you a scale reducer you don't need.
That drain may not be yours
Since October 2011, shared drains and most runs beyond your boundary usually belong to Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water. Before I lift a slab, I'll tell you if it's likely theirs rather than yours.
Weak shower up the valleys?
In Caerphilly, Lisvane or Pontypridd it's usually mains pressure dropping off with the height. A bigger combi won't fix it, and I'd sooner tell you that on the phone than sell you one.

I started Cardiff & Caerphilly Plumbers because I kept hearing the same three stories: the plumber who never rang back, the quote that doubled halfway through, and the mess left behind in someone's hallway.
So I keep it simple. You ring, you get me — not a call centre. I turn up when I said I would. I explain what's wrong in plain English and what it'll cost before I start, and I clear up after myself.
I'm based at Royal Buildings on Stanwell Road in Penarth, and most days you'll find me somewhere between there, Cardiff and Caerphilly.
