Boxing in exposed copper pipework, replacing water-damaged floorboards and plasterboard, fresh watertight silicone round bath trays and showers. I started Cardiff & Caerphilly Plumbers because I kept hearing the same three stories: the plumber who never rang back, the quote that doubled halfway through, and the mess left behind in someone's hallway.
So I keep it simple. You ring, you get me — not a call centre. I turn up when I said I would. I explain what's wrong in plain English and what it'll cost before I start, and I clear up after myself. And if I can talk you through a fix over the phone and save you a call-out altogether, I will.
I'm based at Royal Buildings on Stanwell Road in Penarth, and most days you'll find me somewhere between there, Cardiff and Caerphilly.

Most plumbing advice online is written for England, and a fair bit of it is simply wrong here.
Take limescale. Our water comes off the Brecon Beacons — sandstone and shale, not chalk — so it runs soft to slightly hard. Round here it's rarely scale that finishes off a boiler; it's sludge and magnetite settling in the radiators. A national firm will sell you a scale reducer you probably don't need. I'd rather flush the system.
Same with drains. Since October 2011, shared drains and most pipe runs beyond your boundary usually belong to Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, not to you. People pay for that work every year when they didn't have to. Before I lift a slab I'll tell you if it's likely theirs rather than yours.
And if you're up in Caerphilly, Lisvane or Pontypridd with a weak shower, that's usually mains pressure dropping off with the elevation. A bigger combi won't fix it — and I'd sooner tell you that on the phone than sell you one.
