Book NowA lot of Caerphilly's terraced and older semi-detached housing has a genuinely small bathroom, frequently a converted boxroom or a narrow room over the stairs. Making those work is a layout problem before it is a plumbing one, and the useful gains come from the details: a shorter projection basin, a wall-hung WC with a concealed cistern to recover floor depth, or a shower enclosure sized to the actual room rather than to a standard tray.
On sloping sites we also see bathrooms where the waste run to the stack has more fall available than usual, which is helpful, and occasionally the opposite where a ground floor extension has been added below the original level. Either way it is worth measuring rather than assuming, because it decides whether a level-access shower is achievable.
Where the property sits higher up, incoming mains flow is worth checking before a shower is specified. A thermostatic mixer shower fed directly from the mains will only perform as well as the supply allows, and if flow is limited the honest answer may be a pumped or stored solution rather than a mixer that will disappoint. It is a short test at survey stage and it prevents fitting something that was never going to work well in that property.
